Functional Description
Business Scenario
The DOE SLDS Detail page in SHINES allows users to view the educational data of school aged children in the custody of DFCS directly from the Department of Education’s (DOE) Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS).
Page Function
The DOE SLDS Detail page is accessible via the DOE SLDS Data hyperlink in the DOE SLDS List section on the Education 3rd level tab, under the Person 2nd level tab.
The DOE SLDS Detail page is a view only page that displays SLDS data through the Department of Education’s Interface. SHINES provides DOE a comprehensive list of children with an in custody Legal Status and a validated GTID Person Identifier, which DOE then uses to determine who to include in a weekly response to SHINES. As this is a weekly response, there may be a gap in which a child is added to the list and when their data becomes available to view. Upon availability, users have the chance to view a student’s Current and Prior School History, Assessments, Disciplinary Infractions and other educational related services that allow them to identify academic strengths and weaknesses, to make informed educational related decisions, and to address potential recurring impediments to student learning.
If a child leaves custody and their Legal Status is updated to a not in DFCS value or their most recent, active GTID Person Identifier is end dated, SHINES will notify DOE and this page will become unavailable for view. Per policy, users are only allowed to view the educational details of children while they are in the care of DFCS.

Display Rules
The DOE SLDS Detail page has only one mode: View.
In View mode, all data fields on the page are display only and all collapsible sections on the page default to collapsed. As this information is directly from SLDS, users do not have the ability to modify.
